Important Notice
By accessing and using the AIA Aircraft Model Identification Number (AMIN) system, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use this system.
System Purpose and Scope
The AIA Aircraft Model Identification Number (AMIN) system is designed to provide standardized aircraft model identification for the aviation insurance industry. This system:
- Transforms FAA registration data into standardized AMIN codes
- Provides intelligent model selection based on aircraft characteristics
- Supports insurance industry operations and risk assessment
- Maintains mapping relationships between FAA and AMIN model classifications
Data Accuracy and Liability Disclaimer
No Warranty of Accuracy
The Aviation Insurance Association (AIA) makes NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the data provided by this system. Users acknowledge that:
- FAA manufacturing years are "notoriously unreliable and often wrong"
- Aircraft model classifications may contain errors or inconsistencies
- AMIN codes are generated using automated algorithms that may produce incorrect results
- Data mapping between FAA and AMIN systems may be incomplete or inaccurate
User Responsibility for Verification
Users are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for:
- Verifying the accuracy of any aircraft identification information before use
- Cross-referencing AMIN codes with authoritative FAA sources
- Conducting independent verification for critical business decisions
- Understanding the limitations of automated aircraft classification systems
Limitation of Liability
The AIA and its members shall NOT BE LIABLE for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Use or inability to use this system
- Inaccurate aircraft model identification or classification
- Business decisions based on system-generated information
- Financial losses resulting from incorrect aircraft data
- Insurance claims disputes related to aircraft misidentification
Authorized Use and Access
Intended Users
This system is intended for use by:
- Aviation insurance industry professionals
- AIA member companies and their authorized representatives
- Licensed insurance agents and brokers
- Underwriters and risk assessment professionals
Prohibited Uses
Users are PROHIBITED from:
- Using the system for purposes other than aviation insurance operations
- Attempting to reverse engineer or copy the system algorithms
- Sharing login credentials or providing unauthorized access to third parties
- Using automated tools to bulk extract or scrape system data
- Attempting to compromise system security or access restricted areas
Data Sources and Intellectual Property
FAA Data
Aircraft registration and model data is sourced from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Registration Database. Users acknowledge that:
- FAA data is subject to the terms and conditions of the U.S. Government
- The AIA does not claim ownership of FAA-sourced data
- FAA data may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information
AMIN System Intellectual Property
The AMIN classification system, algorithms, and standardized codes are proprietary to the Aviation Insurance Association. Users may not:
- Reproduce or distribute AMIN classification methodologies
- Create derivative works based on AMIN algorithms
- Use AMIN codes outside of authorized insurance industry applications
Privacy and Data Collection

This system may collect:
- User account information for authenticated access
- System usage logs for performance monitoring and security
- IP addresses and browser information for audit purposes

Data Usage

The AIA makes no guarantee regarding:
- Continuous availability of the system (24/7 uptime)

- Uninterrupted access during maintenance periods
Technical Support
Technical support is provided on a best-effort basis to AIA members and authorized users. The AIA reserves the right to:
- Modify system functionality without prior notice
- Restrict access for maintenance or security purposes
- Discontinue the service with reasonable advance notice
Legal Compliance and Governing Law

Users are responsible for ensuring their use of this system complies with:

Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the jurisdiction where the Aviation Insurance Association is domiciled, without regard to conflict of law principles.
